Portable Iconostasis – ICONOSTASIS

Description

These seven icons were originally on the top row of a 15th c. iconostasis from Novgorod. The Deisis represents the Lord with His Holy Saints and Angels supplicating towards Him. In this beautiful example of Russian iconography, each head is bowed and hands outstretched towards Christ Enthroned. We have hinged them together to accordion-fold into a compact traveling set, which then opens up to a striking array of matching iconographic imagery.
